MirrorBuddy complies with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, as required by Law 4/2004 (Stanca Law) and EU Directive 2016/2102.

Accessibility Features
MirrorBuddy includes 7 SLD (Specific Learning Disability) profiles designed to support different learning styles:
- Dyslexia: OpenDyslexic font, extra spacing, assisted reading support
- ADHD: Focus mode, distraction reduction, break reminders
- Visual impairment: High contrast, screen reader support, zoomable text
- Motor difficulties: Full keyboard navigation, voice control
- Autism: Predictable layouts, reduced animations, clear structure
- Auditory impairment: Captions, transcripts, visual cues for audio feedback
- Cerebral palsy: Large targets, keyboard navigation, assistive technology support
Keyboard Navigation
All MirrorBuddy features are accessible via keyboard:
- Tab to navigate between elements
- Enter to activate buttons and links
- Esc to close modals and menus
- Space to select checkboxes and toggles
Screen Reader Support
MirrorBuddy is compatible with common screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver):
- • ARIA labels for all interactive elements
- • Correct heading hierarchy (H1-H6)
- • Alt text for all images
- • Labels associated with all form fields
Known Limitations
We are actively working to improve accessibility. The following limitations are currently known:
- • Homework page: some buttons have color contrast below the 4.5:1 ratio required by WCAG 2.1 AA. Expected fix: February 2026.
